your designs are for peace,
not affliction.

You sent your Son Jesus
to proclaim peace to those near and far
and to reunite people of all races and descent
in a single family.

Hear the unanimous cry of your children,
the sorrowful plea of all humanity for peace.
Speak to the hearts of those
in charge of the destiny of others.

Stop the desire for retaliation and revenge;
suggest with your Spirit new solutions,
generous and honorable gestures,
time for patient waiting.

for world peace, especially in Syria and the Middle East,

Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you do I come, before you I stand, sinful and sorrowful. O Mother of the Word Incarnate, despise not my petitions, but in your mercy, hear and answer me. Amen

Our Blessed Mother, keep your merciful hands of all those who suffer in wartime
and other forms of suffering in Syria as well as in the rest of the world.
We come to you in our despair and grief our mother, you are more compassionate and gracious than any other creature. Blessed Virgin Mary Our Queen of Heaven pray for us unto the LORD our God. Through Christ, our eternal savior and king. Amen.
