A Prayer for peace, particularly in Syria!

Lord of peace and of life,
your designs are for peace,
not affliction.

You sent your Son Jesus
to proclaim peace to those near and far
and to reunite people of all races and descent
in a single family.

Hear the unanimous cry of your children,
the sorrowful plea of all humanity for peace.
Speak to the hearts of those
in charge of the destiny of others.

Stop the desire for retaliation and revenge;
suggest with your Spirit new solutions,
generous and honorable gestures,
time for patient waiting.
Grant to our times - days of peace.

O Holy Mother of God;
despise not our prayers for world peace,
especially in Syria, Egypt and all of the Middle East,
but ever deliver us from all dangers,

Saint Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray and do thou oh Prince of the Heavenly Host by the power of God, cast into Hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls. Amen.

Oh my Jesus, forgive us our sins, save us from the fires of Hell. Lead all souls into Heaven, especially those in most need of Thy mercy. Amen.

Dear Lord, please grant peace to all the world, especially Syria. Lord, You know the situation in Syria. You know how they opposing sides are threatened by unrelenting hatred. You know how there have been so many refugees who have tragically had to leave. You know how many people have been killed and You know how many lives have been shattered. Please, I beg You, by the power of Your Most Precious Blood, have mercy on them and grant them Your peace. Amen.
