Praying for all of us, who live alone but are not lonely, for we have OUR FATHER

Praying for all of us, who live alone but are not lonely, for we have OUR FATHER
How true. And our brother, Jesus, and our Mother, Mary. And don’t forget our Guardian Angels.

Watch over all of us who live alone today, and keep us safe and close to you, Lord. Amen:byzsoc:

I live alone, dear Lord, stay by my side.
In all my daily needs, be Thou my guide.
Grant me good health, for that I pray,
To carry on my work from day to day.
Keep pure my thoughts, my every deed.
Let me be kind and unselfish in my neighbor’s needs
and always asign to others good intentions and integrity

Grant me unselfish generosity with those in need.
Spare me from fire, from floods, malicious tongues
or if they come, then grant me joy and charity.

From thieves, from fear and evil ones, spare me Lord.
If sickness or an accident befall me,
Then humbly, Lord, I pray, hear Thou my call.
And when I am feeling low or in despair,
Lift up my heart and help me in my prayer.

I live alone, dear Lord, yet have no fear
Because I feel Your presence ever near.
Grant I live ever my vows and in Your Will
Show me my way, Lord, in all things small and great. Amen.

👍 …The prayer is beautiful and I can’t recall where I got it from…

Sanctus, sanctus, sanctus!

If you want to be surrounded by all the saints and angels attend daily mass. From the Sanctus, sanctus sanctus until the completion of the consecration all the angels and saints join you to adore God. Try to imagine all your heavenly friends surrounding you next time you attend mass.

Holy, holy, holy Lord God of power and might,
heaven and earth are full of your glory.
Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Although I am not living alone (my husband and I have been happily married for 32 years), I have lost my closest family members - parents and my one sister. Bill and I have no children and no neices or nephews. Also, Bill is an only child. We have a few close friends and I have gotten closer to my cousins in the past few years.

As I contemplate retirement I have grown fearful of being alone yet I have grown so very weary of all of the “people problems” at work. I’ve heard others say that as you get older your world get smaller. I am both attracted and fearful of that. So, through prayer I have begun to embrace my solitide and the thought that it might increase as the years pass. I have invited Jesus into this solitude and pray he will graciously accept.

As a child I can remember wanting to stay in the empty quiet church in front of the tabernacle rather than going out onto that noisey playground. I feel that way now.

Praying

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

This is a good feeling to have. I attend daily Mass and I try to get there about 20 minutes before Mass starts. It is so peaceful. I pray for all of the people I know who are having health, job, personal problems, etc. and for all of those I don’t know, particularly those on the CAF. It is my favorite time of the day.

You might want to consider this when you retire and good luck with your retirement. I’ve been retired 15 years and LOVE it!
