A Prayer For Those Who Live Alone

I live alone, Dear Lord.
Stay by my side.
In all my daily needs,
Be Thou my guide.
Grant me good health,
For that, indeed, I pray
To carry on my work
From day to day.
Keep pure my mind,
My thoughts, my every deed,
Let me be kind, unselfish,
In my neighbor’s need.
If sickness or an accident befall,
The humbly, Lord, I pray,
Hear Thou my call.
And when I’m feeling low
Or in despair,
Lift up my heart
And help me in my prayer.
I live alone, Dear Lord,
Yet have no fear,
Because I feel Your presence
Ever near.

Amen.

As many folk would hate living alone they think we who live alone must be suffering as they would. I live as a Solitary for many reasons. In an isolated house in a very remote mountain area (Ireland) I would not live any other way. And no I am not afraid as there is no one around to be scared of and my dogs are very loud! But when people ask, they are aghast and now that i am old I am having to repel suggestions I move. NO WAY! I can remember in younger decades being utterly totally lonely, a living hell, but that was when I was being misdiagnosed and abused. Once God sorted that out and I came to Ireland, it all changed . I tell folk, if you cannot stand your own company how can you expect others to?" I enjoy my times out shopping but set against the peace and solitude here… Nothing wrong with living alone. Know what you mean re the cat; I have three cats and two dogs, all rescues…But I am totally happy and at peace alone. NB if you know of someone lonely try to help? Although when I was so lonely being among folk briefly made the isolation worse. I have an old neighbour who has signs up NO ENTRY as he hates folk dropping in and I admit to a locked gate and STRICTLY PRIVATE sign…
Thank you and God bless you for this. I am so sorry that your life was a living ‘hell’ and that God intervened in your life. Being in solitude in the mountain regions of Ireland wow that sounds so amazing and lovely. Thank you also for rescuing cats and dogs I love animals too.

A Prayer For Those Who Live Alone

I live alone, Dear Lord.

Stay by my side.

In all my daily needs,

Be Thou my guide.

Grant me good health,

For that, indeed, I pray

To carry on my work

From day to day.

Keep pure my mind,

My thoughts, my every deed,

Let me be kind, unselfish,

In my neighbor’s need.

If sickness or an accident befall,

Then humbly, Lord, I pray,

Hear Thou my call.

And when I’m feeling low

Or in despair,

Lift up my heart

And help me in my prayer.

I live alone, Dear Lord,

Yet have no fear,

Because I feel Your presence

Ever near. Amen
