Dear Barbara Therese,

I cannot thank you enough for your wonderfully warm welcome. This board is becoming very special to me and the reception I’ve had is overwhelming.

If only a handful of people who’ve said this prayer pass this on and then publish it, God’s work is being done.

It’s power is extremely potent and I’m a living example of this. Sometimes, I think I had to go blind in order to be able to ‘see’ and see I did in so many ways those things I had overlooked before!!!

CAF has been a great support and gift, a blessing in many ways to me too. Without CAF I would be alone humanly in my Faith. You’ll find that in a very short time you will make good friends here…cyberspace friendship that spans oceans!
This Prayer Forum seems to be particularly powerful. I have been struck by the many who have had their prayers answered as they hoped or support and encouragement found that is renewing of spirit. I have had two petitions I have been praying for for years answered and it was a total surprise to me when they came. While I continued to hope, I had resigned myself to the fact that God’s Will seemed otherwise.

It seems like an eternity since I last visited this board and I apologize for my tardiness in getting back to you. In fact, I’ve been a little under the weather both physically and emotionally. My brother took his life a little while ago and trying to cope with this is so very difficult. I think part of me is still in denial … the mind accepts but the heart won’t let go. I loved him so very much !

You’re so right about friendships crossing oceans. I’ve made some wonderful friendships in cyberspace over the years and they are as real and as dear to me as my friendships in real life. I call this ‘the tyranny of distance’ but thank God for making this means of communication open to us just the same.

I’m waffling here, dear friend as I don’t yet know the limitations (spacewise) placed on our posts. I simply felt the need to touch base with you and send all loving thoughts your way.

For now though, may God bless and keep you close to Him.

Your prayer is in our local newspaper every week in petition and thanksgiving, for as long as I can remember.

I am so sorry about your brother, as someone who has been touched by suicide I feel your pain.

Just 3 weeks ago a 22 year old girl hung herself with her belt, I knew her as a young child, she used to play with my daughter.

I hope you learn to cope with the help of God, and I trust in His great Mercy.

August was a bad month for me, having to attend a few funerals, the little 8 month old baby burned to death was harrowing, in all 5 people that I knew, they’re in the hands of God.

Suicide among the young is rife in Ireland, I think it’s because they don’t have God in their lives, and without God there is no hope.

Sorry for ranting.

I’m so glad you found this prayer and are saying it right now. When I said it, I was amazed at the rapidity of how my life was turned around. The changes began in the very first week and finally, I could see the light at the end of the tunnel.

I’m praying for you as well and with God’s grace, may your prayers be answered as quickly as mine were.

Yes, it rocked me to the core. I always thought of my brother as being so solid and strong and the very last person who would ever even contemplate something like this. I’d just come to terms with my mother dying unexpectedly some fourteen months prior but this shook me to my very foundations.

I pray you find peace as I pray for myself. I don’t know where I’d be without my faith in God. He’s held my hand through so much now and may He keep you close to Him also. Thank you so much for your words of consolation.

I used this prayer, but it failed to work for me… I prayed it everyday for three days, and published it both online and in my local newspaper. I was just wondering if I did anything wrong, or if anyone knew any other information regarding this prayer?

Nothing wrong at all … God and Our Lady have indeed answered your prayer, the answer being ‘We need you to be where you are for the moment’. 🙂
 
Dear RachaelJ,

We don’t always get the answers in a manner we expect but there’s a reason I’ve found. I said this prayer and my eyesight was restored.

My mum also said this prayer and she prayed for peace. Only a few months later, she died suddenly. I couldn’t understand this at the time and I was devastated. Why hadn’t it worked ???

In July this year, my brother whom I loved very much suicided. This came fourteen months after my mother’s death. Had my mother lived, there was no way she could have stood the pain of my brother’s death, physically, mentally or emotionally. It was only then that I realized that she was spared all this and had already found the peace she prayed for.

God works in mysterious ways and I’m sure your prayers are being answered … just perhaps not in a way that is visible to you. I’m praying for you, Rachael.
