I saw this prayer this morning online that is something I’ve always needed. A prayer to say before you react: to disrespect from your children, disagreement with your spouse, to conflicts at work, to exchanges online and boy do I wish I had this one when I was still in the classroom!
“Just judge, in the judgment seat, I put the soul of (name of other person) at your feet. Just judge, in the judgment seat, I put my soul at your feet. Amen.”
I mean, a Come Holy Spirit works too, but I’d never seen this one and I like it! Thought I’d share incase you like it too. 😀

Thanks for sharing this 🙂

I have a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later. My mother taught me to say “Jesus, I trust in you” whenever in difficult situations in which I would likely say or do something I’d regret sooner or later. The habit came especially in handy while I was head sacristan, though my pastor at the time frequently wondered why I was muttering to myself in English during our discussions… :woman_facepalming:t2: 😩

That’s a good one.

It’s not a prayer, but I usually am reminded of Laura Ingalls in one of her books, when something really upsetting had happened and “Laura remembered to count ten.”

I need to count to ten. I just threw an emoji tantrum in another thread. It was weird.

For me it’s straight up Calling on the name of Jeeeeesus. Jesus help me, Lord Jesus help me as I am being tested by this person right now. 🙂 I have to say it at least once a day 😉

I was recently reminded of how the tax collector lowered his eyes in the presence of the Almighty and said “Lord have mercy on me a sinner” while the Pharisee was quick to remind God of all his own good deeds.

I mean, the Pharisee, probably did the good deeds and avoided the sins he claimed to, but his heart was full of his own righteousness, rather than with a generous gratitude towards God and compassion to the tax collector.
