I have a question. If a priest has had his faculties suspended a divinis or has been laicized*,* can the priest still give Absolution after a Confession or Consecrate the Eucharist (affect the change of bread and wine into the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ)??? In case there is any confusion, I am asking if a priest that has his faculties suspended or has been laicized decides to say a Mass in his room, will the bread and wine become the Consecrated Eucharist??? Or if a person comes to him for a Confession, can he give Absolution to the penitent???

Or when people say a priest forever, do they refer to the the indelible mark of Holy Orders on the soul??? Thanks and God Bless.

A suspended or even laicized priest has a canonical obligation to hear the confession of (and absolve) an individual in danger of death. Any other use of priestly powers not dependent upon faculties from the bishop would be possible but illicit.

Andreas Hofer:

Hey Andreas,
Could you explain your second sentence??? Do you mean that the priest with suspended faculties could Consecrate bread and wine validly but not licitly??? Thanks and God Bless.

“If a priest that has his faculties suspended or has been laicized decides to say a Mass in his room, will the bread and wine become the Consecrated Eucharist???”

Yes. However if a member of the Faithful attends knowing that he does not have the permission of the Bishop to “say Mass”. Then they too participate in an illicit Mass.

No. However if a member of the Faithful does not know that he does not have faculities to hear Confessions (except in danger of death) then that is not held against them. If they find out or are told they must seek Reconciliation in a valid Sacrament.

"Or when people say a priest forever, do they refer to the the indelible mark of Holy Orders on the soul??? "

Yes.
