My head is exploding.
I think this is all due to a misunderstanding. The only way you would ever have to live as ābrother and sisterā is if your Declaration of Nullity was denied (you have not even petitioned yet, right?) and you still chose to become a Catholic.Maybe its better if I just quit. Because it cant be best for my husband to end up a virolent anti-God type. I could be putting him in a worse state for his soul, and then it may be best I just keep praying for spiritual communion with Jesus on my own and for my daughter. I was told to check some links, and in one I found something a Father Corapi (sp?) said, where he defined marriage as a strong desire to see each other (wife/husband) in heaven.
How can I be a good wife if I am causing my husband to call God names? He never did that before.
Actually, his reaction is completely natural. It would have been better to delay telling him that they might have to live as ābrother and sister,ā unless there were some real chance of that happening, since the chances of that happening are very slim.Dear Notsmart⦠you are smart in your soul and God is calling you to be with him and feel his love for you and your family.
Your husband is acting like a angry brat.
If your husband is really an athiest why would he call God names? If he is really an athiest why would he hate something that he believes does not exists in the first place?Maybe its better if I just quit. Because it cant be best for my husband to end up a virolent anti-God type. I believe this is incorrect. Canon 1394 reads as follows:If a priest left the priesthood to get married, but did not go through the proper process but rather just quit, he is automatically excommunicated.
Really?Actually, his reaction is completely natural. It would have been better to delay telling him that they might have to live as ābrother and sister,ā unless there were some real chance of that happening, since the chances of that happening are very slim.
He has said things like, this God you claim to believe in, and this God who some follow, like that. Now its this God the homewrecker. If your husband is really an athiest why would he call God names? If he is really an athiest why would he hate something that he believes does not exists in the first place?Athiests donāt hate God, they donāt believe there is oneā¦
This whole thread doesnāt make a lot of sense. Iām sorry, but it doesnāt.
Hello, notsmart.My head is exploding.![]()
Donāt worry about that. (Donāt go back there, but donāt worry about it. God understands about honest mistakes.)Really?
I was going to wait until I spoke to the Priest, but he found out he said by his own āresearchā (as we have seen, its a bit sketchy at best so far) but he was right about one thing so far. He told me I did not attend a Catholic parish on Sunday! He said it was not listed in the Arch site, and that he thinks its called a āSSPXā schismatic catholic church! I have no idea what that means!
So, I was not even at a Mass on Sunday. And, maybe even getting God even more upset with me!![]()
No, that had nothing to do with you; thatās just how we are - we tend to assume that people want to be left alone; we are not big talkers, most of the time, and we are kind of shy of strangers.I just went there because I wanted to try a different church to see if I would be more comfortable there or if I could find someone to talk to. The one I first went to, no one talked to me. Maybe because I looked so confused, and its my fault too, because I did not go out of my way to talk to anyone either.
Thank you for the clarification.I believe this is incorrect. Canon 1394 reads as follows:
Can. 1394 §1. Without prejudice to the prescript of can. 194, §1, n. 3, a cleric who attempts marriage, even if only civilly, incurs a latae sententiae suspension. If he does not repent after being warned and continues to give scandal, he can be punished gradually by privations or even by dismissal from the clerical state.
Note that this canon labels the punishment due a cleric (priest) for this offense as latae sententiae suspension or, if the cleric persists, dismissal from his clerical state. Nowhere does the canon refer to the punishment for this offense as latae sententiae excommunication, a much more severe punishment.
