This article responds to a person who said “I never know which of the persons of the Trinity to pray to at any particular time,” something many Christians have no doubt wondered about at one time or another. After many comments, this priest advises at the end that this person pray to whoever you feel drawn to at any given moment.

The Three Persons being God, you can address your prayer to any of them. The Liturgy addresses the Father most of the time, but quite often prayers are also addressed to the Son. The Holy Spirit is also often addressed, frequently in the form of hymns and antiphons.

A classic formula of “typical” prayer (which is by no means a restriction) is: To the Father, through the Son, in the Holy Spirit.
