What is a good response to allegations that the apparitions of Our Lady at Fatima were alien interventions and the appearance of a UFO? I honestly think those ideas are pretty ridiculous, but I’m at a bit of a loss to respond, besides in the obvious way. Thanks.

No wonder you were at a loss…that’s just rediculous.

UFOs are demonic appearances, which demons do to create fear. I’m guessing that the spinning sun is what this man is talking about. I had actually heard an exorcist priest say they are demonic beings. Some believe them to be cherubim demons, i.e. wheel-like in appearance.

Our Lady at Fatima was not a trick of the devil. How does he explain the appearance of the angel handing out Holy Communion to the children? The devil would not recommend someone to say many rosaries, as she did to Francesco. He also would not be pleased about someone who went to heaven.

Of course, he can believe what he wants, because these apparitions are not required beliefs of Catholics.

For someone who finds it easier to believe in Martians than in Our Lady, I am not sure what tact can be taken with them except for prayer. There are those who believe that Christ was an alien from another planet and there are others who believe that God is another life form from an advanced galaxy. Another Satanic influence of Hollywood, I fear.

They would probably not accept the fact that Our Lady made predictions at Fatima that came true concerning upcoming World Wars, etc.

I personally find it much easier to believe in Christ and His Blessed Mother than little green men based on how He has moved in my life and responded to prayers for myself and my wife and children.

I just finished reading a short book purporting that UFO’s are demonic appearances. Previously, that never occurred to me But after reading the book, I was intrigued and inclined to accept that theory.

I would say that the messages of Fatima are true and they are being fulfilled. I have talked to people who believe that UFO’s are recorded in the Bible and that Alien beings came here, etc. My cousin married a “Kook” who was a former Catholic and became a “Born Again”. He also has a supposed Phd in Theology. He also mixes “New Age” with Christianity. To top it all he wants the Pre VII rite book of Exorcism.

The reason why… he said that a Priest showed him how to perform the Rite of Exorcism and he and this Priest used to go to the Psych Hospitals in Cincinatti and cure the Mental paitents! What is strange that he is a Born Again but wants to use a Catholic Exorcism to drive out devils!

Best bet is not to let these peole get you all worked up and pray.

Tell them to show you a UFO and then you’ll believe it.

Some may be. Otherwise, there were a lot of them seen at the height of the Cold War, close to military bases and test ranges, that looked an awful lot like stealth bombers and other then-experimental aircraft…

The “UFO”'s that have been seen above the Vatican, though, sort of make one wonder.

But, that’s a topic that deserves its own thread.

The answer: tin foil hats. This protects a person–from the alien radio active gamma rays, you know. They all were wearing them–during the apparitions, I mean. 😉

Seriously? Who is asking you? A Catholic? Why do they feel that the alien would want to disguise itself as the blessed mother?

Hmm, I never thought of “ufo” appearances as being demonic in nature. That’s a new idea for me.

This “alien-obsessed” anti-Christian is in one of my classes at school and constantly brings up the subject. I don’t know why ANY alien would do something like that, actually, if aliens even exist at al, but apparently he’s willing to believe it. 🤷

Bingo!

Because some people wish to find aliens wherever they look, just as some wish to find the devil under every stone.

It is the same phenomenon that attracts people to conspiracy theories; they believe it because they want to believe it.

Exactly. It can become a HUGE problem if it escalates, too.

Same here.

I’ve always thought that if it was Satan’s mission to guide people away from the Truth, then he must have the easiest job in the universe because most people need very little enticing; they do very well on their own.

I would hate to tie the reality of demons to UFOs, because if one were convinced that UFOs do not exist then one may adopt the position that demons don’t exist either. While I certainly do believe that Satan and the fallen exist I think they get far too much credit for the evil that goes on in the world. As I said before, mankind is more than capable of making heaven into hell by its own choices.

And more often than not we make the wrong ones. 😦
I’m not 100% sure either way about the existence of aliens. Do you personally believe that they exist? I’m pretty sure they’d have other things on their minds than appearing as the Virgin Mary to shepherd children if they are real, so the more I read into it, the more ludicrous the Fatima-UFO parallels seem. Besides, why not start “appearing” to people now in that manner, in a century when so many technological advances have been made and we could, in theory, logically pose a “threat” to another civilization if it’s anywhere nearby?
Rambled a bit there. 😃

Too true.

No, I personally do not believe that they exist any more than I believe that dragons, mermaids or Peter Pan exists.

Especially when you consider the totally Catholic prayers that the children were taught at Fatima. Why would a demon teach a prayer that has been recited by the Catholic faithful ever since that reads,

“O, my Jesus,
Forgive us our sins,
Save us from the fires of hell,
Lead all souls to heaven,
Especially those most in need of thy Mercy.”

If it is a demon’s job to lure people away from the faith, then this guy has an epic fail every time a pious soul prays these beautiful words!

UFOs…humbug!!!🙂

What an odd claim. I guess it could be true, but where is the evidence? I’d be more inclined to believe they were hoaxes or delusions than aliens, because I can’t see the point or any evidence to suggest it might be the case.

Usually, simple answers are better. I can understand why people might not really believe it was the Virgin, if they aren’t a Christian, or even if they are. But aliens seems like it’s making things way too complex.

What a pious alien!
What is it with the obsession with aliens that modern society has? I mean, even the vision of the Divine merkavah (chariot) that the prophet Ezekiel sees - the four cherubim, the wheels, and the “One who had the likeness of a man” - is attributed to a UFO visitation.
Personally, I guess that anyone who believes this theory seriously has watched Stargate (especially the film) too many times. 😃

Which brings us to the question. Why would beings from another galaxy go down to Earth and show themselves to humans claiming to be either gods or major religious figures?

(Ironically enough, the TV is showing clips of purported UFO sightings just before I posted this)

Coming to these forums is actually starting to scare me. The fact that intelligent people would actually consider that UFO sightings are somehow related to demonic activity, is, uh, disturbing to say the least.
