It’s a mortal sin to lust after a tree stump. Is it a mortal sin to have some lustful thoughts on a **cartoon ** character (i.e. Misty )?Well, she is not real so you are not treating a real human as an object and I am wondering if that would attenutate the gravity of the sin of lust.
Ash Ketchum??? Who?? Is that a real name, anagram or what?I do not know about “baiting” but I asked the question out of curiosity, not because I actually have those thoughts about Misty. BTW, my religion is the same as Ash Ketchum’s.
Viki:Dear Ribozyme,
Is your religion really Pokeism (sp?)? Are you Catholic? Because being Catholic is vastly more satisfying and healthy than being immersed too much in any hobby. It involves a real relationship with our creator and savior, as you probably know.
I recommend that you not dwell on lustful thoughts, but try to think, as the Bible says, about whatever is true, worthy, holy and honest. (Sorry, I forget the exact quote.)
God bless.
Thanks, Michael. And it’s totally true that the peace of God will keep our hearts and minds if we make our needs known to Him. I’ve experienced that for a long time. Great quote.Viki:
The Scripture you’re refering to is Philippians 4:8:
*Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, Rejoice.
Let all men know your forbearance. The Lord is at hand. Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Finally, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is gracious, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.
Philippians 4:4-8 RSV*
Your Brother in Christ, Michael
