A question about confession and priests

If you go to confession, will the priest ask why you have done what you have done. Eg if you say you used to really dislike God, will he ask why?
 
Priests typically ask questions to clarify what you’re trying to confess, or on occasion, so that they can counsel you. I’ve rarely had a priest ask a question like that in 20+ years, and it wasn’t that much of a question - just a rephrasing necessary on my end. He won’t ask for the sake of knowing more of the “juicy details”.
