A Question About Hell

Hello,

My name is Paul I am 22 years old and I belong to a knightly order in England. I have never thought about hell before until last night when I had a very terrifying dream. I saw the fires of hell and a demon in the foreground, something I am still afraid of . It has told me there are other eternal torments in hell, not just the lake of fire. The demon told me the following as to what awaits me in hell

''You will be brought here on your white horse in your shining armour and we will change you, change you into a pretty girlie who is very white wearing a short blue dress with no underwear with long blonde hair, you will serve each one of us for all eternity as that girlie , your horse shall be castrated, your manhood will be attached to it’s tail. "

I know it has been just a dream on the one hand but it is so vivid, even now, that I remember every detail. I never experienced anything like this before.
I just want to know if this can really be my fate in hell as punishment for my pride ? Is it really possible I would have to endure it forever ?

It was a dream. But know that Christ descended into hell and if we are Christians we claim to follow him so we have nothing to fear of hell.
 
But can you guarantee 100% this will not happen to me … can we be certain about it ?

If you are Catholic and die in a state of grace then you will be saved. If you are a Catholic and die in a state of mortal sin you will go to Hell.
If you are not a Catholic then you have no assurance you will be saved even if you think you live a good life.
 
True or not, and it most assuredly was a dream, or other believers would have experienced something like it. Anyway, to be sure it does not happen to you, I would venture to say that you already know what to believe and what to do to prevent it.
A true child of God is not going to Hell. If you belong to Christ and this is genuinely so, then you cannot belong to Satan. You can and will be tempted by Satan but you will never belong to him if you are a true Christian. Satan cannot take you out of the grasp of Christ. Only you can allow that to happen. Satan can do a lot of things, he can tempt believers, he can make his little kingdom attractive with lies and promises but he cannot take a believer away from Christ if that believer is firmly grounded in Jesus Christ.

Does it mean that if I end up in Hell then the above dream can be come my fate for eternity ?

Yes…but does it mean that if I fall for the temptation of Satan, then this can await me in hell…can it really be the case ?
 
Everyone will sooner or later fall for the temptation of Satan to varying degrees. We are all tempted, and we all sin, on a DAILY BASIS. WE ALL FALL SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD DAILY. But we strive to change our lifestyles and focus on what God wants us to do. We are to find out what God wants us to do, and, do it. We will be sinners until the day we die.
When we live as Satan wants us to live, we will end up in Hell. If we live the way God wants us to live, and believe that He is the one true God, and that the only way to Him is through His Son Jesus Christ, and we STRIVE TO FOLLOW WHAT HE WANTS US TO DO, then we will end up in heaven.
We choose where we end up. The gates of hell are locked from the inside. No one is just sent to hell arbitrarily, for no reason. That person made a conscious decision to reject God and have nothing to do with Him. God sees this and honors our free will and says in effect, what a punishment it would be for you to spend eternity with Me if you don’t want to. I will honor your wishes and your choices and you can live where you want to live, far away from Me. I.e. Hell. We choose to go to Hell.
Falling prey to sin is normal, but we must ask forgiveness and repent i.e. turn from those sins and that sinful lifestyle. Start living a new life, the way Jesus wants us to.
We are not going to hell because we sinned. We are going to hell because we do not care that we sinned over and over again as a way of life. Your attitude toward sin right now as we speak, your concern about it, tells me that you are not a follower of Satan and so while I cannot speak for God re where you will end up, I can believe His Word, and that says that believers in Jesus Christ belong to Jesus Christ. Christ would never in a million years give one of His own to the devil.
 
The case is it would be worse than you can possibly imagine far worse than your dream. This would be if you rejected Christ. But you have to remember he would never reject you or leave you alone.

Thank you for your response. I understand what you are saying but my question was more along the lines - can it be the case that hell is more than a lake of fire , can what I have described actually happen there ? Do you agree with people that say most people that die go to hell ?

Yes but how do we know if our acknowledgment of Christ is enough for Him ? What do you think about people that went to hell and back - is it true or not ?
 
Well, I guess that anything that involves punishment, CAN happen in hell.
What we have learned about it in the Bible is what it is like. I don’t know if that description of it is all-inclusive or not but I do know that the Bible teaches all that we NEED to know about it. We can speculate endlessly and all to no avail, ultimately, as what difference does it make whether you will be riding a horse there or on foot? As you said in your first post re your dream. Even if it were true, what difference would the details of hell make, really, when you think about it? Suffice it to say that none of us wants to go there.
As for the second part of your post, whether most people will be going there, as you know, Jesus says over and over again that many are called but few are chosen, that only a few ever find the narrow path, that the path to destruction is wide. And more passages such as many will approach Him saying Lord Lord and he will say to them Depart, I never knew you! Taken together, these passages all seem to say, quite clearly, that most people are not going to heaven, although large multitudes think they definitely are. But the Bible is clear that most are in fact not going to heaven, if only a few find it, if only a few find the correct and narrow path. And if humility is a major test, then there are millions who fail that test right away. Unless you become like a little child, you shall not enter the Kingdom of God. And numerous other references.
What we need to do is to study the Bible and do it intensively so that we know it. Then when we have a dream like you had, we can say right away, that was a dream, I did not get a preview of hell. We test everything we hear by the Bible itself.
The main point is this-----everything you ever have to know about hell is right in the Bible itself. Endless speculation on hell or on anything else, is ultimately fruitless. If you are a believer, and you belong to Christ, and you are seeking salvation, etc then you do not have to worry about going to hell. If you are none of those things, it is indeed a legitimate object of concern.
 
You do not have to go outside the Bible to know that it is enough for Christ. He already tells us in God’s word what is enough and what is not. Just study and read the Bible and apply it. It is all set out there. What is enough is said to be so, what is insufficient is covered too…all you need to know about salvation is right in the Bible. Go to The Gospels then read Romans, which speaks about salvation.
These are promises made by God himself. They can be trusted as such. Whatever God wants you to know, he was put in His own Holy Word.

The demon mentions my pride and somehow this punishment that was described would really humiliate me beyond belief, this is why I thought it was important…because i always thought hell was just a lake of fire. As I have said, it was more than a dream. It was incredibly vivid, just as some people that claim they went to hell and back. I really hope I am going to avoid this place…but I also wonder if this dream was not a premonition of some sort…it scares me. I apologise if it seems repetitive but I find it to be important after that experience.
 
No, never ever apologize for being scared of hell! Suppose, for the sake of argument, that you really went to hell as a kind of preview of what life would be like for you if your besetting sin remained pride. Or suppose it was a dream?
Either way, you are thinking about it and taking steps to avoid it. But it is as if you will not be reassured, even by the Word of God Itself. You have got to take what the Bible says, to heart and believe its promises, or you have nothing. No one can talk you out of believing that you may be going to hell, except the Bible. By reading it you will know whether you are a true believer and headed to heaven, or you never were saved in the first place and are headed to hell.
What test can be use? The Bible. Read what Scripture says about it. If you are God’s child, He would not let you go to hell. Would you as a loving parent cast your two year old out into the traffic on a highway??? How much more does God love us, his children, than we love our own children? Millions of times more. He created us, he watches over us, and if we are HIS, then no one can take us away from Him. Not even Satan. Satan is powerless when it comes to God. Satan has power over us if we go along with him. But by not going along with Satan and knowing that God is our Father, we are safe.
I can tell you do not feel safe about this but please go to the Bible and read again Mattthew, Mark, Luke and John then go to Romans re salvation.
And as for hell being “just” a lake of fire, that alone would be enough for me to want to avoid it at all costs. Regardless of what it was like, you choose to go there or not. It is up to you.
Just because the dream was real or seemed real, does not mean that you are going there in reality, does it?
 
Knighthorse, Hell is probably far, far worse than what you saw in the dream. The worst pain in Hell is the anguish of having lost God forever, and after 1000 years of torment, all you have to look forward to is another 1000, and then another 1000. . .

But, you should not let this thought cause you to despair. If this dream is what it takes to light a fire under your butt and start living the Christ life, then it is a good thing.

Similar thoughts on Hell is what literally scared the hell out of me and led me to a profound conversion.

Yes, this is what scares me…is it possible that this ‘‘vision’’ is a preview of what my fate is going to be if I remain a proud knight, so to speak…what do you think ?

Yes but you have to realise that to me what has been shown there is beyond humilation because of the fact I am a knight…and I cannot even imagine it…I appreciate the reassurance but this was really a very …powerful experience.
 
You seem to be asking IS this my fate NO MATTER WHAT I DO? Like it was already a foregone conclusion. That may be part of the issue here, that you think you are going to hell because you dreamed about it or you went there for a preview. So you ask if going there or dreaming about it means you are actually going there in the future?
My opinions don’t count. Read what the Bible says about it. I keep saying it but I have to hit you over the head with it because you are in a state of near panic. What I think and say about hell is not out of a formal religious debate scholarly material culled from all the theologians that ever lived----what I am saying to you if that if you are a child of God, then you are not going to hell. But you must read what Jesus says about it.
If you think you are headed to hell because you dreamed about it or got a real preview of it, I say that there is no connection there. If you think it was a warning, maybe it was, maybe even very likely it was, or maybe a dream----regardless, you take steps right now to make sure you know where you are headed and even if you were headed to hell, you can avoid it. You are not getting a preview of what WILL happen as if you have no control over it, if that is what you are thinking. Having a dream or having a glimpse of reality does not at all mean that this is your future, unless you choose that route, which I can tell you are not doing.
No one can tell you anything to the point on this except one source, and at the risk of beating a dead horse, I say once again that you must go to the Bible on this, you simply must.
 
The only reassurance you will receive about it is via the Bible. Maybe it was powerful, because you needed a push in the right direction. It seems to me that you got that push 🙂
But don’t think that no matter what you do from now on, that you are going to hell because you dreamed it or because you got a preview…
Well, let’s dig a little deeper into it----you seem more concerned about the humiliation aspect of it rather than the suffering, due to your being a proud knight. What sort of knighthood is this? A religious order? Catholic? Do you put the knighthood on a pedestal far above Christ? Let us know just what causes the fear of humiliation, and it is interesting that that is your main fear, not the fear of everlasting torment so much…
