Good Morning.

Sometimes when I pray I enter what seems to be a room, a dark room, not dark in the evil sense. There is silence in this room so no formal prayer or even thoughts. It’s like being asleep but when you come out of the room you know you have not been asleep. Can anyone shed light on this please.

Thank you and God Bless

Matthew 5:18 In truth I tell you, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, is to disappear from the Law until all its purpose is achieved.

Start your prayer with the St. Michael prayer, and then I would seek the advice of your regular confessor.

You didn’t tell us what this situation gives you.

At any rate, I think it’s important to not be emphatically passive.

When tongue-tied and short of energy, I just repeat Glory Be’s, or even a three-word prayer I am copying from someone.

Our Heavenly Father can allocate the benefit from it to whoever is in need and your effort will go towards your crown.

St John of the Cross gives such an analogy of interior prayer, being an act of faith which is like being on a ladder in darkness. As God draws the soul closer to Himself, the soul reaches for each rung of the ladder and as he/she ascends, the light of God becomes brighter.

Just being in the presence of God, who dwells within is enough to concern yourself with.

He will give you the grace which will transform you, so that you will love as He loves.
