A question about stream entry and the 10 fetters

  1. Belief in a self
  2. Skeptical doubt
  3. Attachment to rites and rituals
  4. Sensual desire
  5. Ill will
  6. Lust for material existence.
  7. Lust for immaterial existence.
  8. Conceit
  9. Restlessness
  10. Ignorance
These are the 10 fetters one has to eliminate in order to achieve enlightenment. When one achieves stream-entry, they eliminate the first three.

If one has eliminated doubt (2), then how can they still be ignorant (10)? Only people who are ignorant can doubt.

Yes. That is why I posted in the Non-Catholic Religion forum directed more towards the Buddhist members on this forum, since I’m not really sure sure how many Catholic Christians know abou this.

It’s basically an attitude one has to conquer in order to achieve enlightenment according to Buddhists.
