Hi, I was going to ask a question about working (studying in this case) on Sunday. So I’ve organized myself very poorly and have two pretty important exams on Monday as well as some homework. Saturday I have school and will come home late (20.00 earliest and 22.00 latest). I am trying to fit as much of that work as possible into what is left of today and the little time that I’ll have tomorrow. If I end up reading over notes and quizzing myself a couple times on Sunday does that really count as working on Sunday/ is it a sin? Many thanks for any answers 🙂

why not study everyday? And do good everyday?

Are we allowed to do homework on a Sundays? Ask an Apologist
I am currently in law school and have 3 final exams over the next two weeks. Generally, I try to get my homework done before Sunday, but studying for exams is not something one can be done with doing. My question is whether or not it is permissible to do some studying on Sunday (especially since I have an exam on Monday) so long as it does not interfere with my attendance at mass and other normal prayers.

Thank heaven Fr. Serpa confirmed it’s not a sin or I would be going to Hell. I spent many years in grad school while working full time and often Saturday and Sunday were the only time left I had to study. Even when I was in school full-time, the college workload was usually such that one had to study every day. One of the schools was nominally Catholic and none of the priests ever said boo about studying on Sunday other than “good luck” at exam time, nor has any Newman Center I’ve ever been to.

Hope its After Holy Mass.why not sure you can study its not a sin ,even Doctor"s Nurses, medical staff work on Sundays since its their duty\ emergency its not a sin ,sure they would attend Holy Mass on Sunday Morning and go to their work ,on off days they would pray, which they missed praying.God Bless!

Didn’t Jesus allow his disciples to work on the Sabbath? What about the 30% of Americans who have to work weekends?

Jesus left that place and went into their synagogue. A man with a withered hand was there. Wanting to bring charges against Jesus, they asked, “Does the Law allow a person to heal on the Sabbath?” Jesus replied, “Who among you has a sheep that falls into a pit on the Sabbath and will not take hold of it and pull it out? How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! So the Law allows a person to do what is good on the Sabbath.”
