I know that we need to apoligize if we wrong someone, but what if we do it in our mind. I’m talking lust,hatred, and coveting. I know it would be a sin, but do we need to apoligize to said person about our thoughts?
I wouldn’t think so since by doing so would only compound the problem. Every sin begins with a thought and then moves to word or action. That is why we hold consent as one of the qualifying factors when discerning whether or not we sinned. So I would just mention your sin of unguarded thoughts in confession and leave it there. Many times fleeting thoughts that are rejected are not even sinful at all. Once you tell someone of your unfavorable thoughts towards them then you might risk hurting them as well…teachccd
