can you go to confession outside a confessional? we are having an all school mass tommorow, and i am in need of going to confession before hand. is it possible to go to confession in the preists classroom? thanks.

yes, a priest can hear confession anywhere in a confessional or outside. I know of one who even heard confession under a tree on my parents farm!

St. John Bosco heard confessions on tree stumps and behind his Oratory. Blessed Miguel Pro, I believe, heard confessions in a taxi cab (during the Mexican persecutions). I’ve even gone to confession in our church cafeteria.
