A question for all Protestants being lead by the Holy Spirit

Christ’s Church is a group of belivers, not an organzation.
John 6: is about Faith and belief.
Worship is for God , not for me: however I still prefer to be with believers rather than people just going through the motions , or worse : actually NOT believing.
Christ’s Church is an authoritative Church He established and chose and appointed men over. That is an ‘organization’.

Your ‘anti-Catholicism’ is duly noted. You persist on insinuating that Catholics, alone, do not believe.

Catholics are a group of believers. Many denominations is many groups of believers.

Show me the scriptures that show the Churches in scriptures having different practices, doctrines, or beliefs? It’s not there. The Church was one and was meant to be one, of the same mind and judgement, of the same accord.

Catholics, as stated above, are believers, rather than people just going through the motions, or worse, actually not believing.

See, what you’re describing and applying only to Catholics, is the same in any Church.

Read the scriptures and you’ll see there were doubters among those Christ chose and appointed. That does not take away from the Church He established.

Worship is for God, the way He wants to be worshipped and not how we’re willing to worship him…

[As a note; my question is posed to Christianity, not just Catholicism]
How do you suppose Christ to walk away from Christianity, which is belief in Him?
My question isn’t a paradox, but it does bring to light a big issue you alluded to when you said “Christ is our religion”…and there are only two ways to answer my question.
  • One answer reflects “faith and hope in” our (“organizational”) system of worship of the One.
  • The other answer reflects “faith and hope in” the One, Himself.
As one of Christ’s flock, would you follow him wherever he goes…even if you’re lead away from everything you think you “know” concerning him? Would you follow him away from the system or would you deny him, claiming he “must not be the real Christ…because the real Christ would never forsake the system He founded”?

To follow Christ is to be Christian, or members of Christianity. I do not believe He would separate Himself from what He established, or built. He is of His word and cannot err, or contradict His word. I would not try and use ‘hypotheticals’ to justify a separation.

Your ‘anti-Catholicism’ is duly noted.
of course: if I were PRO Catholic : I would be Catholic…duh!!!
You persist on insinuating that Catholics, alone, do not believe.
NEVER NEVER NEVER said that at all: I ACTUALLY gave an example of MY OWN CHURCH not believing…“going through the motions” post #107

feel free to retrack that comment of yours

Sadly, I will not retract my statement. It is clear that you have an agenda, aimed solely at invalidating the Catholic Church. Not only invalidating, but it appears you also have desires to ‘pull Catholics’ away from the Church. Do you not understand that such actions ‘divide’ the body of Christ?

But at least your argument is clear. Leave one imperfect Church, for another imperfect Church. Sorry, that makes no sense at all, especially when one recognizes which Church came from which Church. One needs to look past the sins of others and remain with the Church Christ started. History is clear on the origin and longevity of the Catholic Church, just as it’s clear on the ‘origin’ and longevity of all Churches. I prefer and recommend all to stick with the Church of our early Church fathers.

Chapter 8. Let nothing be done without the bishop
See that you all follow the bishop, even as Jesus Christ does the Father, and the presbytery as you would the apostles; and reverence the deacons, as being the institution of God. Let no man do anything connected with the Church without the bishop. Let that be deemed a proper Eucharist, which is [administered] either by the bishop, or by one to whom he has entrusted it. Wherever the bishop shall appear, there let the multitude [of the people] also be; even as, wherever Jesus Christ is, there is the Catholic Church.

Catholic is an adjective derived from the Greek adjective καθολικός (katholikos), meaning “universal”.**
Also Red, I wanted to let you know, I have a lot of respect for ‘most’ Methodists, as they seem more charitable with their posts, and with intentions of ‘sharing’ our faiths. That is what can unify what has been divided, not driving a wedge at every opportunity.

A follower of Christ is just that…“A follower of Christ”. He is not a member of a religion or organizational system.

To “establish” something is to create it’s “foundation” in hope that it will grow based on that foundation, but as we’ve seen in history and (as well as you know) from the bible - as well as recently on God’s Holy Temple Mount (in Jerusalem) - man always attempts to build over what God has “established”, only to erect something foreign to God’s original intention…always. And every time such a thing occurred, God indeed either forsook (separated Himself from) it or eventually destroyed it.

Agreed; His Word does not error. Christ can never be separated from his body, and upon his foundation (rock) he has been building his body (assembly)…the thing is ‘just because “Christianity” has in it the word “Christ” does not mean it is (de facto) Christ’s body’.

“Narrow is the gate that leads to salvation, while wide is the gate that leads to destruction”…and Christianity is the biggest religion on earth (a pretty broad and wide gate that accepts everyone, interestingly).

Again, remember my two answer choices…and notice which one you’ve chosen, Prodical…

Do not be one who says to Christ (if ever the time comes), “‘I do not believe Christ would separate Himself from [Christianity] He established, or built’…so I don’t believe in you.”

Don’t let your personal understanding cloud you from seeing Salvation when he comes.

Followers of Christ are called Christians. That is an organization.
Christ clearly built a Church and stated that even the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. That seems, to me, to be a promise of longevity. Also, we cannot forget His promises to have the Holy Spirit guide it, teaching it all things, and to be with His Church until the consummation of the world. He is the ‘new and everlasting’ covenant between man and God.

Those Churches built by men, came through His Church in their separation. To me, that seems to be man’s attempt to improve on what Christ built.
Agreed; His Word does not error. Christ can never be separated from his body, and upon his foundation (rock) he has been building his body (assembly)…the thing is ‘just because “Christianity” has in it the word “Christ” does not mean it is (de facto) Christ’s body’.
Semantics.
“Narrow is the gate that leads to salvation, while wide is the gate that leads to destruction”…and Christianity is the biggest religion on earth (a pretty broad and wide gate that accepts everyone, interestingly).
He gave the keys to the kingdom of heaven to Peter. That gate is through Him, specifically through the Church He gave us. Hopefull all the other paths can find it through His great economy.
Again, remember my two answer choices…and notice which one you’ve chosen, Prodical…

Don’t let your personal understanding cloud you from seeing Salvation when he comes.
Again, more semantics and hypotheticals. Again, it seems to be a justification of ‘many’ Churches. There was one Church. We are to be of the same mind and judgment and of the same accord.

Careful with your last sentence. Surely you’re not going against the rules of the forum by telling me what I need or lack in reference to salvation? There is one who will judge us all. Don’t suppose yourself to be that one.

I am grounded in my faith in Him and what He gave us, and His ability to keep His word, throughout my lifetime and all time beyond.

If the meaning of the Bible is so clear-----so easliy interpreteted==and the Holy Spirit leads every Christian to interpret it for themselves, then why are there over 36,000 non-catholic church and millions protestants ,all interpreting the Bible differently
Bill, no offence but I really wonder why people are not reading the Bible and then asking questions that has all its answers already in it? Are we here to tell what has already been written?

You ask why? Answer is because there are many FALSE spirits.

1 John 4:1 Test the Spirits ] Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
