Would John MacArthur agree to a visit with the new Pope Francis ?
At Rome … or at John’s Grace University ?

Put the question to him … and get back with his response.

I’ll ask the obvious question. Would Pope Francis agree to a visit with John MacArthur? In theory, probably so, but would you please ask him just in case and let us all know. Thank you in advance. 😉

Would be an interesting meeting for sure. I remember when Billy Graham met the then Pope. They definitely showed Christian love to one another at that meeting. Can’t remember which Pope though. Nevermind, just googled it. He met with John Paul 2.

‘Visit with’? That doesn’t make grammatical sense. You either visit, are visited by, or receive a visit from - you do not ‘visit with’.

Yeah, many protestant churches claim Billy Graham is the worst Christian to ever walk on earth.

One of the reasons for that claim is because he made friends with the whore of babylon and embraced the anti-christ.

 I have never heard Billy Graham ever being attacked that way. Most if not all the Protestants in my experience greatly admire him. What I found interesting about him is that he also met with C.S. Lewis, who described Graham as being “rather a nice fellow” 🙂

If there are any Protestant churches who claim that about Billy Graham, that’s awful…shame on them. What a way to degrade a man who has had an amazing and fruitful ministry for more than a half century. If he was attacked like that, it was likely done by some extreme “fundamentalist” types; however their opinion is not a common one among Protestants. My family has a long history of being Pentecostals and they (along with their respective churches) have never spoken of Billy Graham in that way. At any rate, more grounded Protestants seem to respect him.

I have a youtube on it. I have also been told that he is one of the worst Christians by someone I work with cause of this interview with Larry King a few years ago.

The reason. Cause Larry King asked him if he judges Hindus, or Jews or the people in other religions, but he said he leaves at all in Gods hands as far as judging. So King pressed him and he asked, so you do not judge them?

Graham said no I do not. That is not my calling. I am here to present the love of Christ through his death and resurrection.

Well, these Christians went nuts cause he said he does not judge them. One of the main reasons too as I said was because of his friendship with the so called anti-christ the pope, and making friends with the whore of babylon.

Look at the comments in there. I refuse to read them. They give me an intestinal disorder.

Here is one I want you to watch…attacking the Catholic church…

I sure hope you see the danger when someone who insists on sola scriptura (which really means my personal interpretation of scripture) and how it leads to this type pf false teaching.

Oh wow, I had no idea. That’s awful. Unwarranted attacks, anti-Catholicism and anti-Protestantism are all despicable. So when I see the kind of ignorant anti-Catholicism that’s on display in the second video, it makes me feel almost ill. And honestly I don’t blame you for not wanting to read the comments below the first video. I don’t generally like to read comments on Youtube anyway…more often than not they are filled with blatant, unsubstantiated hatred.

And strictly speaking, I am not for sola scriptura but I don’t want to derail this thread on the subject.

At any rate, thanks for sharing.

Billy Graham became more Ecumenical … over the years. He met with JP2, and they got along.
He was mightily led by the Lord … and brought many a Protestant into the Kingdom.

I wish John MacArthur would mellow too, as he gets older. I think he and Pope Francis would get along, and possibly mend some fences.

👍:rotfl: The OP a former SOUTHERN Baptist !!!
Y’see, here in the South, the concept of “visiting” doesn’t just mean stopping by someone’s house. It includes sitting with the person being visited, talking with him/her, maybe even eating with him/her. So of course one can visit with someone else.

Back on topic, I rather doubt that MacArthur would be interested in such a visit, so much so that if I knew him (which I don’t), I wouldn’t even bother putting the question to him.
