Unfortunately I don’t know many Eastern Orthodox Christians, but I was wondering how the Eastern Orthodox Churches view the Protestant Revolutions that occurred 500 years ago?

Thank you and God bless!

Interesting question. I will be waiting to see if any Eastern Orthodox Christians reply.

I’m sure it depends on the background of the person, where they converted from or if they were born Orthodox. Personally as a convert from being raised JW, then RCC for a few years, and now recently converted to Orthodox I have no fondness of the Protestant Reformation. I think it has created horrible views of God and His Church and has blurred the difference between being Christian and not. I don’t think some of the original reformers saw what would happen over the years, but really were trying to keep most of the RCC’s mindset and just correct what they viewed as wrong. But of course when you start fresh with some things, it will lead others to start new ideas all over the place. The reformers rejected the Orthodox Church as well and chose to follow their own will.

While I cannot say I value the Reformation, I must value however it was that God led me to His Church, which included going through the Reformation’s ugly granddaughter, the JW religion, and the Church’s lost sibling the RCC.
