A question for Mormon converts

While this has been taught by a few fringe Mormons it is not official LDS doctrine, and is not commonly held. Mormons firmly believe that an individual is accountable only for their own personal sins. Lets play fair.
And “It is not official doctrine” is a common response to many Mormon practices. 😦 Does the LDS hierarchy excommunicate those who practice it? Because I have PERSONALLY experienced it. I agree that they are fringey. Then ADDRESS the issue, for God’s sake!!!

Talking about playing fair!! :frighten:

Careful. There are cafeteria Catholics out there too. I’m not saying it’s right, but if Nancy Pelosi can still receive communion, then we probably have a few things in our own house that need to be put in order. 😉

It is up to Mitt Romney and the LDS church to put their house in order first. Respect for human life, and disrespect, exist in both parties.

A bit OT here, but does anyone know how Mitt Romney is related to the late apostle and 1st presidency member Marion G Romney?

thx

I don’t know where this thread is going now, the original poster hasn’t been involved in this conversation for some time, so why is it being carried on by others? Is it because we have our own issues that need to be aired, or just like the sound of our own opinions?

I would say neither in all honesty.

In all my experiences in all kinds of forums or just everyday conversations, it’s pretty much human nature when it comes to communications and conversations to go off on tangents… 🙂

Thanks Marie, but I thought that one of the forum rules is that we remain on topic, which clearly is not the case here, and in which the original poster is not involved, which to me signifies that they have either lost interest or been satisfied with the replies received. If the latter is the case then the post has run its course.

According to Wiki Marion was Mitt’s father, George’s cousin.

My experience here in the Non-Catholic forum is that Eric is pretty tolerant of threads getting on a tangent as long as it doesnt become problematic.

On occasion he will lock a thread if it’s run it course or goes way off topic, but not always.
He is pretty patient with us. 🙂
