What would a faithful Muslim say if a man came to him who has done many extremely evil things in his life and is seeking forgiveness. Let’s say the man who comes to the Muslim is a robber, a wife abuser (using both fists and words) and a child molester and he wants God’s forgiveness. He goes to a Muslim and says he’s desperate, his life is empty and purposeless, he is sorry for all his crimes and he needs help. What kind of answer would a Muslim give him?

Not a Muslim but it would go something like this, I think:

“Pray to God for forgiveness.”
or
“Say Shahada, cleanse yourself, and your past sins are not considered.” [if the man is not already Muslim]

Edit: I know a bit about Islamic Theology.

Kill him he’s an infidel!
I don’t know about that; I just want to find out what they think.

God forgives all sins, if the person is sincere and seeks forgiveness. Muslims are encouraged not to ever lose hope in God’s Mercy and forgiveness.

Qur’an 39:53 “Say: ‘O My servants who have transgressed against your own souls: do not despair of God’s mercy, for God forgives all sins. It is He who is the Forgiving, the Merciful.’”

Qur’an 2:186 “When My servants ask thee concerning Me, I am indeed close (to them): I listen to the prayer of every suppliant when he calleth on Me: Let them also, with a will, Listen to My call, and believe in Me: That they may walk in the right way.”
