Do any of you struggle with thoughts about how this or that person should not be receiving communion? I know none of us should probably feel “worthy”, but let me run an example past you.
You are assisting with communion at Christmas and a member of your family approaches to receive. You know that person only attends church at Christmas and has made comments that they don’t believe, etc. They are only there because it pleases their parents to have the whole family in church. Perhaps it is someone who is divorced and remarried without an anulment.
Sometimes I cannot keep such thoughts from entering my mind. Should I remove myself from the EMHC list?
