But how can this be?
All of these people claim to follow the “Bible Alone” and all swear up and down that the Bible is perfectly perspicuous and self-interpreting.
How on Earth could some of them have wandered “waaaaaaay out of it while other are more strictly Biblical”?
And could it be that even these latter groups are still off base in some things?
Finally, would it be correct to assume that your particular faith community is not one of those that is off track in any way whatsoever?
Obviously, the Jehovah’s Witness and Muslims are part of those who are waaaaay out there. With a little research, both you and I could find more even further out there.
The particular “faith community” that I belong to has its eyes on the “finish line”. If we, as a congregation or individuals, should stumble and fall, we get back up and continue the “race”; keeping our eyes on the “finish line”.
Does yours look at the scenery as they run? No sprinter or marathon runner ever does that.
“What about (any Bible character other than Jesus)? What about him/her?”
THAT is not looking to the finish. You need spiritual “blinders” on.
To me, it doesn’t matter if Mary remained a virgin or not. She was a fulfilled prophecy. It doesn’t matter to me what happened to Joseph. Scripture tells me all I need to know about him.
All the world needs to know is within the covers of the Holy Bible. If there was no other writings or oral “traditions”, there is still enough to do God’s Will and get to Heaven.
Outside of that, is the “traditions of men”, who was born with a sin nature and need a Savior, just like everybody else.
All means all.
