This always puzzles me. On these forums, Luther is so often presented as the bad guy, the one who created all sorts of lies, changed things, went the wrong way…but when he agrees with Catholics, they whip him out to prove their point? Does anyone else see something…odd about that? The earth being the center of the earth was never taught as infallible truth.
Mary was not an addition. Even Luther respected her. Her role was accepted by all until protestant revolt. The Church has split because of people wanting to change the unchangeable. As was stated, nothing dogmatic has changed.
When the discussion is Catholicism, why pull out Luther at all?
He isn’t Catholic. What he believed isn’t the subject. And in the next post, or thread, he will again be used as an example of everything bad.
I mean, if Luther was so wrong about so many important things…maybe he got the thing about Mary wrong as well.
