A question on relics

Sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I was wondering…at just about every online catholic gifts store you can purchase “relic medals” (please, i understand you purchase the medal and not the relic) can these relics really be seen as authentic? Does one gift store have authentic relic medals?
Any other place you can get relics(of any classes) for a donation?

If the store is reputable, the relics are probably authentic. Third class relics can be made at a shrine, so they aren’t limited in number.

You can get first and second class relics by contacting an organization who holds those relics in trust. Sometimes, they might have something available for the faithful (a woman is sending me a piece of the bedsheet upon which Blessed Pier-Giorgio died- we have a particular devotion to him and just wrote and asked for something) and sometimes it might only be for a parish (Saint Maria Faustina’s relics are only available for parishes).

If there is a saint that you have a particular devotion to, don’t hesitate to find out who holds his (or her) relics in trust, call or write, and ask. At worst, they could say no. More likely, that can do something special for you, like hold a rosary to the first class relics (or shrine, or grave, etc) and have a priest bless it.

I have doubts about relics produced commercially, such as these

Maybe they are touched to a first or second class relic but I doubt that the people that make them would go through so much so much trouble to make them. Another reason I don’t think these relics are real is because I aslo find it hard to believe that companies have such access to fist or second class relics.They are also incorrectly labeled. The relics that you posted from the Shrine of Saint Philomena come from the dress that vest the statue that hold her remains not her actual dress. Here are some links to some first class relics:

Please remember that it is forbidden to buy or sell relics of any class. “Donation” is another word for “buy”.
Those selling try to say they are selling the container of the relic and the relic comes with it free but that’s a load of rubbish. I really don’t know how anyone could be so naive to believe that. I’m not saying that applies to you. Its a general statement.

Canon Law does not differentiate the classes of relics forbidden to be sold.
