““One is a kind of ant in the rain forests in Asia and South America. They blow themselves up by contracting their body muscles violently when near enemies. They’re the suicide bombers and the extreme altruists, as far as their colonies are concerned. They rupture, and the body sprays poisonous liquid. That’s [aimed] chiefly against other ants—the greatest enemy of ants is other ants. Does that sound familiar?””

Ants are neat. They’re social insects and well-known for being warmakers, so I’m not surprised. Yes, it sounds like some people.
One interesting thing about hive creatures is that in most such species, only one female has chidren – the rest are asexual workers and soldiers, giving their whole lives to the cause of maintaining the Queen. The males care for the young, who live in a giant nursery together.
Thank God he didn’t set us up in a society like that. I’m not a monarchist nor a fan of collectivist childrearing systems.

My point is that some Mahometans haven’t gone past the level of ants.

You really ought not insult ants like that. Unlike human suicide bombers ants have no conscious control over it. It’s all a function of their autonomous nervous system. Humans still have free will.

And I believe the proper term is ‘Muslim’ not ‘Mahometan’.
