We have a short, simple video that points out the difficulty in our church - one question with different answers.

That is an overly simplistic, not at all rational attempt to explain something that is situational.
Not realistic at all.

that’s the problem - what for 2000 was carved in stone has become situational - situation ethics - it has previously be condemned by our church on several occasions. I think it points out exactly what is happening - priest # 1 is orthodox and priest # 2 is situational

The whole situation is bogus. No priest that I know, and I know many, who run the gamut from heterodox to Orthodox and not one of them would tell a couple such as this that what they are doing is ok.

believe me it is happening - here in Chicago with Cardinal Cupich, in San Diego with Bishop
McElroy, Cardinal Wuerl in Washington, in Germany, countries in South America. And who knows where else? I read and post Catholic News every day and I see this situation being played out - which is fundamentally the argument of - does primacy of conscience overrule official Catholic teaching? I will look up what Cardinal Wuerl just said about this and post it in a few minutes

This silly video was made by someone who apparently does not even understand the internal forum, to whom it may apply and the situations under which it may be exercised.

Calling into question one’s orthodoxy is not a very good way to win friends and influence people.
The video is flawed. It is nothing more than propaganda for a side with an agenda, which incidentally, is not the Church’s.

here is what Cardinal Wuerl said - “Priests are called to respect the decisions made in conscience by individuals who act in good faith since no one can enter the soul of another and make that judgment for them.” SJL, p. 52.

this, it seems to me, says it is up to the individuals to make the final decision - ie primacy of conscience overrules official catholic teaching.

here is the article - http://www.catholicherald.co.uk/com...ls-amoris-laetitia-document-is-open-to-abuse/

Brilliant video! It explains the situation perfectly. This is the problem with Amoris Laeitia in a nutshell. It is why this document will be condemned by a future Pope. God will not allow this heresy and sacrilege forever.

You realize that this video was posted online by a group who is virulently hateful toward the Holy Father, right? A group where every video is some sort of outrage hyperbole? They have another post titled “Is Pope Francis An Ally Of Satan?”

Not a credible source by any measure.

No, it does not mean what you think, or what this video insinuates. You are taking a very personal and very nuanced situation and trying to give it a cookie cutter solution.
There is no one sution, and yes, in some cases, a priest, after counsel, can allow primacy if conscious to come into play.
@Tulitas was right.
Mercy is a tough thing for some. I hope none of you ever find yourselves in some type if irregular situations with a priest with attitudes like some here have.

I’m sorry, but you are wrong and I would appreciate if you do not insult me by insinuating that since I do not agree with you that I am not “clear minded”.

I’m so sick of hearing about this false mercy. Mercy is not a cloak for sin! Real mercy always requires repentance! This false mercy is an excuse to allow sinners to continue in their sins. Real mercy requires the person to change their lives and sin no more.

The Holy Father Pope Francis says and does many good things - however when he is error as the dubia and the filial correction pointed out he needs to be corrected appropriately. Our allegiance should be to Christ and His Church and not to any human authority regardless of who he is. When a member of the clergy errors they need to be corrected for the sake of saving souls and defending Christ’s Church. People are not anti - francis but pro-truth.

And no one is saying otherwise.
But sometimes there are circumstances that you and others will never know about. Life is messy and not always black & white.
Why are people so worried about this. It has been going on for years. That’s what Pastors are for, to help people discern. It is really no one else business.

What makes the Cardinals who wrote the dubia correct & Francis wrong?
The fact that you agree with Burke, et.al?
