A really good blog post summarizing indulgences

I happened to find this blog post summarizing the current plenary and partial indulgence grants from the latest Enchiridion of Indulgences. If you already know what an indulgence is, and that the Church allows them, etc., then skip straight to the bottom of the post for the summary.

It’s very handy because the person has not only listed, in one spot, all the plenary and partial grants, but has linked all the prayers that carry partial indulgences. I personally find the Enchiridion to be kind of disorganized in this regard and was in the process of making up a chart with dates so I can keep track of which feast days have the special plenary indulgences associated with them for saying an extra prayer at church, etc.

Edited to add, the only thing I would add is that for the prayers that need to be said on certain days, they generally need to be “recited publicly” which means said out loud in public. A church open to the public counts as “public”, though I see no reason why you couldn’t say them on the public street as well, if you couldn’t happen to get to a church.
