A reasoning question

What is your reasoning of this question.

Do we go through the reconciling process first before we receive the reconciliation or do we first receive the reconciliation and then go through the reconciling process?.
 
Interesting isn’t it? Considering we get absolution, and then we do penance? Love it! Guess it all works on faith and when do you feel grace from what you go through? Should that be, can that be enough, or does it have to be ‘absolutely correct’? 🙂
 
God constantly provides avenues through which we can receive grace in various ways. When we’ve sinned, it’s through some of these avenues (sacramentals, etc) that our hearts can be turned toward the desire to reconcile with God. However, we are only truly reconciled with God through the Sacrament of Reconciliation (in the case of mortal sin) and through a variety of means (in the case of venial sin) – for instance, through reception of the Eucharist.

So, in answer to your question: first, our hearts are turned toward the desire to reconcile; you might want to say that the ‘process’ begins there. Later, having experienced sacramental reconciliation, we still grow in grace, but we are truly reconciled with God. 😉

I reason that remorse comes first then confession to the owner followed by forgiveness and don’t worry about paying it back but don"t steal no more.

I reason that we are reconciled to receive absolution and reconciled after absolution from glory to glory

Before absolution
6:44 “No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws them, and I will raise them up at the last day.

After absolution

John 15 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. 2 He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes[a] so that it will be even more fruitful. 3 You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. 4 Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me.
