In the spirit of the upcoming canonization of Pope John Paul II (patron of the Catholic literary revival), I thought I’d share this information with aspiring writers on this forum.

This is an annual contest and you still have time to prepare your manuscripts for this year’s deadline:

catholicmom.com/2014/04/14/catholic-publisher-of-fiction-offers-cash-prizes-for-unpublished-works/

tuscanypress.com/tuscany-prize.php

I’d also like to see more writers sharing their work, advice, ideas, successes, struggles, etc. over at the Catholic Authors, Writes (sic), Publishers Group (forums.catholic-questions.org/forumdisplay.php?f=402)

Jump in and contribute!

Oh, thanks for pointing this out! I’ve never heard of this contest, but I’m definitely going to have to think about writing something now.

Thanks for the heads-up! I might just give this a shot, since I actually get a month off in June. 👍

Woot, woot! Go for it! 😃
Thanks! I actually have a pretty good idea (or at least the germ of one) but I’m still hesitating on whether to turn it into a book or an RPG. Flip a coin, I guess! 😃

I’m not really an “aspiring writer”, but I still like to think I’m capable of writing.

I already have a short story idea. It’d be about a guy who returns to the church and rediscovers his faith when he gets to college. Drawing plenty of inspiration from my own life. (I didn’t admit it until recently, but I was actually agnostic for part of high school)

Oi. Never one to consider myself much good with words, despite what others occasionally say. I may have to give this a stab.

Too bad I have nothing to write about… 😊
