A Reputable child sponsorship program

I’m looking at one recommend by a fellow parishioner called Chalice. I’m wondering if anyone knows of any others that are in good standing?
Is not necessary that they are Catholic, I just want to know if I do sponsor a child that the money and prayers will help them, not some other agenda.

I hope this was an appropriate category to place this in.

The non-Catholic programs tend to draw children in Catholic countries away from their Catholic schools. Contact a Catholic missionary school or seminary and ask which charities they recommend.
 
I can recommend our diocesan orphanage in Peru, Casa Hogar Juan Pablo II. Founded by Fr. joseph walijewski, from our diocese, whose cause for canonization was opened last year.

The orphanage uses the Boys’ Town model where the orphans live with a family at the orphanage rather than in dormitories.

It’s a wonderful cause.



We get letters from our child that we sponsor as a parish.
 
Thank you I was unaware of this and will keep this in mind.
 
As others have mentioned, it would be unwise to donate to non-Catholic initiatives of this sort, particularly ones operating in Catholic countries (e.g. Latin America, the Philipines, Eastern Europe).

It’d be better to donate to a Catholic charity.
 
@aservant I sponsor a child through the Catholic charity, Chalice and believe it to be reputable and responsible with the funds they receive. I remember checking about that once but can’t remember where. Could find out if you need info.

Seems to be run out of a small office in maritimes. First heard about after mass. A travelling deacon (at his own expense) came with a folio of children needing sponsorship. I chose a boy from Bolivia. He will soon graduate high school and is interested in becoming a mechanic.
