In The Book of Sirach, Chapter 22 Verse 17 states:
Code: 
   A resolve that is backed by prudent understanding     
  is like the polished surface of a smooth wall.          

  Please explain.

lets break it down. Resolve would mean determination or fortitude. purdent understanding would mean sound reasoning and judgement. So if someone has resolve or determination and the are basing this on sound reasoning and judgement then they are like a polished smooth surface which is solid and has not dents or cracks or dings, it of one piece. smooth also implies a solid unbendable or brakeable surface.
