A sharp-edged sword, a polished arrow

In The Book of Isaiah, Chapter 49 Verse 2 states:
He made me a sharp-edged sword and concealed me in the shadow of his arm.
He made me a polished arrow, in his quiver he hid me.

Is it correct to express that this verse is referring that the servant of the Lord was made ready and fit for the preaching of the word of God?

I don’t know how much “preaching” he did. I doubt he was much like a Sunday morning TV preacher who spits out scripture. He was an advisor to the Monarchy; and since he was filled with Truth, he was a truthful advisor.

I also look at it telling me that God is shaping us to be that polished arrow. We may have started out as a crooked piece of wood that had come off a bush, but with careful pruning and shaping, God has made us (or is in the process of making us) that perfectly straight and polished arrow.
