[Oops – thought I was in the prayer intentions section - sorry]

I know there is a lot of major suffering in the world and too many things to pray for, but seeing this made me sad:

a raccoon had been hit by a car and was bleeding sitting on the road. We got him off the busy street but he ran off before Animal Services could get him but he was definitely injured enough to not run off right away and looked to have a facial or head injury, though he was able to move.

I just hope the little guy doesn’t have to suffer much and maybe has a chance to get better on his own where ever he ran off to. It was just sad that nothing could be done for him.

I pray it so.

As an animal lover myself, I ask for St. Francis’ intercession for this little creature. 🙂

St Francis and St Anthony of Padua both had a great affinity with our furry animal pals - prayers to both of them for the poor injured critter.

racoons are some of the toughest critters out there so we will let St. Francis take care of him, I have seen adult coons with amazing injuries, inluding one with only 2 feet on opposite “corners” who learned to peel of the rubber weatherstripping on our garage door, reach in, pull the cord, open the door, so he and his family could raid the garbage. He would then close the door and move the rubber strip back, so it took forever to figure out what was happening (we blamed the poor dog). until DD and boyfriend saw him in action one night. think your little guy may do just fine and live to tell the tale.

Heh, that’s a great story – yes, I have read that they are very clever, but wow, that is really amazing – what a meticulous, considerate:) little guy that was to put back your weather stripping for you;) .

Thanks for your prayers all and thanks for reminding me that they are tough – hopefully he got through it and is sleeping it off this morning with its mate (we saw another raccoon come out of the bushes while we were waiting for animal services so it must have been its mate.)

St. Francis was my confirmation saint and I was quite dumbfounded by how much this affected me and made me want to stop to help. I guess I am learning from him 😃

I’ll say a hail Mary for the little bugger!

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

God Bless
In Jesus through Mary

St. Franics we ask your prayers for Gods creatures that are injured especially this raccoon with injuries.

St. Francis, please pray for this poor little raccoon and for all creatures that are injured or suffering.

It always makes me sad when I see a creature of God injured, especially because they are so innocent and at the mercy of others. God bless your sweet and sensitive heart! I will definitely pray for the little fella! May all the saints that had a special fondness for God’s creatures intercede for all injured animals. Amen!

I love animals, the poor little guy was scared.I’m praying he is going to be ok and safe whereever he is.

When I saw the title of this thread, I thought “the User Name is well chosen”…-…Carthusianish
