FYI, there are several other, much smaller, houses on the Boro Pio, quite close to St Peter’s Square, which are generally far less expensive than the more famous ones. One in particular (that a priest-friend of mine has used and found very satisfactory) comes to my but I cannot for the life of me remember the name. IIRC, however, it’s on the right-hand side as you enter the Borgo from the Square, and is just a few doors down.

Good to know! I’m going with a professional tour (France and classic Italy, a spiritual pilgrimage that begins in Lourdes). I’m sure they’ll know where these places are. Thank you!
