I have posted thousands of times on Catholic Answers since 2006. Now I am giving aMore than 40 years ago my wife’s mother was told by her doctor that she had ovarian cancer and that she would be dead in 6 months, and that nothing could be done to save her. After this, she gave birth to a son. Bleeding heavily, she died. She was clinically dead for 3 hours. They were going to take her body away to be embalmed, but delayed because they were too busy.
She said she met the Virgin Mary, who showed her purgatory (which was terrifying), hell and heaven. She saw her daughter Josefina, one of her four daughters, crying beside her body. She didn’t want to leave heaven because it was wonderful, but she pleaded with the Virgin Mary to go back because she didn’t knew who would take care of her newly-born son. And that’s what happened. I knew her well and that she would never have made such a thing up.
Her doctor found she no longer had cancer. He couldn’t believe her cancer was gone. She was always very religious. Before this happened, she was devoted to the eucharist but not to Mary. Now she was. She said all 15 decades of the rosary every day. Her daughter say they saw her at 2 or 3 AM, kneeling beside her bed and saying the rosary and the Divine Mercy chaplet. Then she stayed up and went to morning mass every day. She was dressed then in the white garments women wear in that country, the Philippines, in honor of Lourdes. And during the feast of the Immaculate Conception every year she held a big open-air feast for family members and the poor and disadvantaged in honor of the Virgin Mary, who gave her a second life. When she told my wife why she was giving this feast, she told my wife the story of what had happened to her.
Then in 2005 she died at the age of 85 at last. As she was dying, the first thing she asked was that my wife continue the feast every year in honor to the feast of the Immaculate Conception
