Aus. advocacy of “bombing the Vatican”

The Australian Broadcasting Company’s Bob Ellis writes the following in his “insightful” editorial:
No-one has yet suggested bombing the Vatican and pursuing the Pope through the sewers of Europe till he is caught and riddled with bullets in order to stop priests buggering choirboys in Boston, Chicago, Dublin and Sydney. But a precise mirror image of this is how we behaved in Afghanistan.

(snip)

…Why then do we not bomb the Vatican and obliterate Italy for harbouring this criminal mastermind, this known protector of evil predators? Why do we not pursue him through the sewers of Europe and riddle his corpse with bullets?
Now, I realize that he is not literally advocating this type of thing; however, the fact that this is even able to make it past his editors is chilling.

I am, though, 100% confident that there will be some who will consider this a good plan.

**God allows evil to highlight the Good!

“I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.” (JN 10:11)**

Can you imagine the outcry if the article’s author had suggested bombing Mecca?

Anti-Catholicism is indeed the last acceptable prejudice.

Even more sickening: the “Australian Broadcasting Company” is taxpayer-funded.

Ellis has some things to say about this countrys Opposition (Conservative) leader; Tony Abbott, who happens to be a Catholic: "He still thinks eating Christs flesh and drinking his blood most Sundays a useful pastime and Mother Church not a swarm of predating sodomites who will fry in hell forever…"
There`s other condescending, smart alec bilge in the same article.

A nasty, bitter old man who would be fit company for Dawkins and Hitchens.

The ABC is full of anti-Catholics, and very poor “Catholics” who are promoted as the real thing.

Thanks be to God i dont have television, and dont bother with the radio…or "news"papers!

From the article I think he is literally advocating that type of thing.

What the Heck ever Happened to “innocent until **Proven **Guilty”?

I myself am very concerned for our Holy Father. This kind of vicious vile commentary would be enough for some unstable person or group of people to put a plan into action. Not that they would be successful, but enough to stir up a pot of hateful, evil plans. Blatantly promoting violence should be totally banned, and is a perfect example of jounalism gone awry not only in this country but throughout the world.
