I work in a hospital (business office, not patient care) and the way I leave the building is near the ER ambulance entrance. So yesterday, when I left work, I saw a dedicated ambulance for a hospital about 70 miles away loading up a tiny little baby in an isolette. The facility I work in has a Level II NICU (Level III is highest, if you’re unfamiliar), and the hospital in question is a Level III NICU facility.
I don’t know who the parents are or what the issues are, but I can just imagine the feelings they would be experiencing with being separated by 70 miles from one’s newborn with major medical issues. (My middle son is a graduate of a Level I NICU, he was 5 weeks early.)
So the only thing I can do is say … please pray for this family.
