A traditional booklet on Total Consecration

I have the booklet “Preparation for Total Consecration according to St Louis De Montfort” by Montfort Publications and want to do Total Consecration to Our Blessed Lady but I really don’t like the modern translation of the prayers, reflections and scriptures passages.

Does anyone know of another publisher or booklet for the Total Consecration that is more traditional?

Any info would be gratefully welcomed.

If you are looking for thy and thee and thou, I don’t think you are going to find it, but Tan Books publishes a very faithful translation of “True Devotion to Mary with Preparation for Total Consecration”. This is the full work by St. Louis de Montfort and contains the readings for the meditations from The Imitation of Christ.

It is currently $11.95 at the Tan website.

I’m currently using that version by Fr. Hugh Gillespie, SMM and I find it far more traditional than the other version I have 33 Days to Morning Glory and I don’t really find much order to the version in the back of the TAN Publishing edition of True Devotion.

It’s not about thy, thee and thou. I just don’t like dumbed down language when it comes to the sacred. The Total Consecration booklet I have does just that.

I thank you for your suggestion and might just end up purchasing this booklet.

Thank you for your suggestion. I searched on Amazon for the booklet suggestion and found it at a very reasonable price. I might just purchase both book recommendations so far.

I didn’t mean to insult. It is a faithful translation in very readable language. I don’t know if you equate readability with dumbed down, but a very trusted Franciscan priest recommended this version as faithful to the original 15th century French without being stiff and unreadable.

I own “God Alone: The Collected Writings of Saint Louis de Montfort” by Montfort Publications and don’t find it dumbed down at all.

But yeah, there are some terrible pamphlets out there.

Personally, I took 90 days to prepare. I don’t think 33 days is enough. YMMV.

Anything by TAN is rock solid, especially about this particular subject.
 
I was told a long time ago (some time in the eighties) that the best translation of True Devotion is the Father Faber translation. TAN used to publish it. I don’t know if they still do.

The other option is to find a used Catholic book dealer and see what they have. There are a few of them. Loome Booksellers in Minnesota is one that comes to mind.
