I suppose it could be argued that I am ALREADY doing 90 minutes of prayer daily. One of my books is A TREASURY OF CHAPLETS, by Patricia S. Quintiliani. One entry was “Novena In Honor Of The Nine Choir Of Angels”. Nine Glory Bees (or Glory To) recited nine times during the day. 81 all together, and chaplets have been made up for it. I have one.
Said to be highly effective in times of stress or emergency. Well, I am under a lot of stress whilst working at the Post Office, and have found this Novena helps keep me calm. After all, you are thinking about God, not that jerk of a co-worker. 81 Glorys takes about 15 minutes. I do five sets of nine when walking from parking lot to time clock, and another 3 sets of nine walking from time clock to work area. On an average work day I can easily run up 90 minutes while walking from one trouble call to another.
Yes, very much like an Orthodox Prayer rope
Wait, it gets better. Can we count the time I drive to and from work? 25 Minutes each way. The Fransican Crown first, followed by more Glory Bees. Plus down time waiting in line at stores.
I don’t know if this really counts as prayer but, as noted, it is a way to stay calm and centered on God during those many but very brief idle periods during the day.
