A vindictive little lady

I do two part time jobs. Recently we put off a lady for various reasons. The particular agency I work for in this area puts long term unemployed on in order to try to get them back into the workforce.

Since then she has proven to be very vindictive. Essentially she’s been trying to close us down, and has been trying every agency in the book, from contacting the media, contacting places where we work, put in a false claim for Worker’s Compensation which was refused, accused us of unsafe working practices, lying about the training and conditions, libelling both staff and fellow employees (or ex-fellow employees) and so on.

In addition we have good reason to believe she arranged to have her own car torched to claim insurance. We’re getting pretty close to going to the police, as we’ve had such a gutful of her behaviour.

This afternoon I made the mistake of briefly talking to a journalist, in response to his phone call to one of our work locations. What will come of that remains to be seen. As far as I’m concerned we have absolutely nothing to cover up, and I’m getting very fed up with sitting there like a shag on a rock while this vindictive person goes about with her hate campaign.

So, I’d appreciate prayers for a few things -
  1. A satisfactory solution for the agency where I work, so that we are not disrupted or damaged by her behaviour.
  2. That her campaign will fail miserably.
  3. That the truth will come out about her own dishonesty, before she damages anyone else.
  4. That I might learn to forgive and “Love my / our enemy.”
  5. The wisdom to know what to do.
  6. The hope, rather unlikely, that she herself will come to know Christ.
The matter is rather urgent, as she is worrying some other people a lot more than me.

I’d appreciate your prayers, thanks.

I can appreciate your situation - but, that’s a story for another time. In the long run, Truth will prevail. Fortunately, for me it did, anyway. I pray the same is true for all of you, too. Our priest reminds us often that the only person we can change is ourselves. It sounds like this woman has ‘issues’ you may never understand. Pray for her.

I will keep all of you, including her, in my prayers.

God bless,
Linda

Sounds very unpleasant and worrying, Bob. Amen to your prayer. At least, Bob, she now has you and us to pray for this woman. Maybe no one else ever did.

Holy Spirit we ask You to make clear to all who need to know, that this woman is probably in need of psychological help in order to face and to deal with practical reality and sensible boundaries, and to deal with her issues without deception and blaming and attacking others.

Please protect those whom she seeks to harm and help her to put her energy into making restitution and admitting her error. Please help her to deal with her needs and problems wisely and without harming others.

Please heal the anger and anxiety she has triggered in others and help them to act wisely and transparently in refuting her claims.

Bob, still in my prayers.

Holy God grant this woman the peace of mind and spirit she so desperately needs in learning to respect truth, personal honesty, and the rights of other people. In doing so please lead her to renounce her vindictive and unreasonable behaviour.

Please give Your peace, and spiritual growth to those whom this woman has offended and maligned.
We ask You to ensure that goodness will prevail in all things.
Thank You, holy God of goodness and love.
