A Walk to remember

How often do you see a really GREAT movie? This afternoon I saw a really great one called A Walk to remember. In the interest of not spoiling it for others who haven’t seen it I won’t get into details but its one that is really worth watching.

Its a romance story with 2 teens in their senior year in school. If you think that it may be a little young for your liking worry not. Love is eternal and it teaches the beauty of true unselfish love.

On a personal note with a movie like this it makes me wonder how people can rave about The Notebook:confused: or Titanic:eek:

I thought it was good until the saccharine turn toward the end. I found the last scene way too much. However, I saw bits of Titanic on TV last week and I tend to agree that I like WtR much better!

The book was WAY better. I have no idea why movie makers think they are improving things by changing the way the author told the story. I actually cried when I read the book; the movie made me want to bang my head against a wall (I’ve learned to avoid a lot of movies based on books if I’ve already read the book… I just end up getting irritated! Cut out some parts to shorten it, if you must, but PLEASE don’t change the elements of the story!) If you’ve read the book, don’t waste your time with the movie (I think you’ll be disappointed) and if you’ve seen the movie, read the book and REALLY be moved!

Same goes for “The Notebook”. Read the book, don’t waste time with the movie. And “Titanic”? I couldn’t WAIT for the iceberg to show up!
 
I have not seen A Walk To Remember. I would like to read the book. I read The Notebook and saw the movie, yes books are usually better than the film but I did like the movie . I did not like Titanic at all :nope: . Very over rated imo.
