It is a private devotion, not a public liturgical one, so holy water isn’t required. It does not substitute some personal religion for the faith, nor is it a superstitious practice, but celebrates the truth we believe in. It isn’t something that bears teaching officially, like our common prayers and rituals, but it is not an abuse. Rather, it sounds edifying to me.

If Sundays loaned meaning to every day the way that holy water has given meaning to every drop of water that comes the OPs way, we’d all be better off.

Having said that, I think the OP would find that having a holy water font in her home would be a truly lovely thing.

It was at a Catholic Church 2 years ago, but they used a plastic water pitcher. The priest might have blessed it but I’m not sure.

Usually the blessing of the baptismal water is usually part of the rite, but it’s also possible that the Priest used baptismal water blessed the previous Holy Saturday.

Sometimes when I take a shower or if I have a cup of water. I might pour or splash myself and say Father, Son, Holy Spirit.
I don’t think its a sin, just a weird little thing I do.
