Ah, THAT’s the Hillsong big deal someone posted about a while back. Pretty dreadful. But to each their own, I guess.
I prefer a darkened chapel, silence and the Real Presence in the tabernacle or monstrance to listening to that over-emotional “pretty” music designed to make everyone feel warm and fuzzy. Who can hear Jesus over all that clap-trap?
And I’m not 100% old-fogy, plain chant or nothing. I’ve been to Taize services with the sweet repetitive verses in various languages repeated to be prayerfully meditative. And some Black gospel music can left my heart in prayer. But that Hillsong stuff leaves me cold.
