A Year in Honor of Priests 2009-2010?

Hi all - Has anyone heard that June 2009 through June 2010 will be declared a year dedicated to the priesthood?

I saw a very brief reference in our local diocesean newspaper buried in the last paragraph of an unrelated article. I haven’t seen or heard anymore about it anywhere since.

Boy oh boy - I hope it’s true and not simply a misunderstanding. My husband and I dedicate our family rosaries to all priests everywhere, and we name the special wonderful priests we know and offer their intentions to our Blessed Mother.

If anyone has seen or heard anything, please post it here.

Let’s all pray on behalf of our priests.
 
That is true. I read it from a Catholic website, from my Spiritual Director and our diocese’s Vocation Director.

The vocation director is reassigned to a parish and he talked with me and several friends about ideas for celebrating the year of priest for his new parish.

Thank you very much - you’ve made my day. I can’t wait to tell my husband! We’ll certainly keep dedicating our rosaries to priests and I hope others will, too, during this fabulous year.

What a joy it will be. I am not sure exactly what our parish has planned [yet] and by the time it begins I myself will be in another state.

I noticed this and was wondering? Since this was last posted has anyone else found information in their parishes for this? [Perhaps parishes are waiting for year of St Paul to end?] at any rate if you know of anything let us know.

Yes, definitely! I have started a thread on this subject in the Spirituality Forum entitled “The Holy Priesthood.”
