This was when Senator Pelosi (sp?) visited Rome last week. It was covered by some news channels this past week.The pope has made a lot of comments about abortion, so I don’t know which “recent” ones you’re referring to and can’t really comment on them.

Pelosi is a member of the House of Representatives, not the senate. She is the Speaker of the House. The pope did reminder her of the need for Catholic politicians to support life. As for what the Church will do with regard to communion – so far there hasn’t been an official position from Rome or from the Conference of Bishops – it’s up to the local bishop to decide how to handle it at this point.This was when Senator Pelosi (sp?) visited Rome last week.
