Just wondering…
I had 2 abortions a long time ago :(. I had been attending non-denomination churches off and on. I had “fallen away” and did a bunch of STUPID things one of these STUPID things was having the abortions. These all happened during the same time. The first abortion I actually took a pill that made me have a miscarriage. The second was an actual abortion.
When I had the abortions I knew it was wrong VERY WRONG, but didn’t know what else to do in that situation I had gotten myself into. I had other children and I feared for mine and their lives if I didn’t have the abortion. It was a really bad thing I had gotten myself into. Anyways, after the abortions I didn’t attend church for a LONG time. I then started looking into a church to belong to. I couldn’t accept the fact that it was ok to “fall away” every now and then and just because I received Jesus as my personal Lord and Savior I was ok and it didn’t matter what I did I was “saved”
I ended up coming into the Catholic Church after a lot of study. I confessed my past abortions have repented of all my sins. I would rather die than ever offend God again.
I wish I could just turn back the hands of time! I wish I could talk everyone out of having an abortion! It is so horrible!!!
Sometimes I wonder was I too late. Is there no hope for me?
How does Heb 10:26 & 12:17 fit into the picture?

Thanks for your answers in advance!

In this life, it is never too late to repent your sins. If you are truly sorry, your sins are forgiven.
1 John 1:9
If we acknowledge our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from every wrongdoing
Confess your past sins to your priest if you haven’t already.

Hebrews 10:26 has to do with apostacy
Haydock Catholic Bible Commentary
Ver. 26. If we sin wilfully. He speaks of the sin of wilful apostacy from the known truth; after which, as we cannot be baptized again, we cannot expect to have that abundant remission of sins, which Christ purchased by his death, applied to our souls in that ample manner as it is in baptism; but we have rather all manner of reason to look for a dreadful judgment; the more, because apostates from the known truth seldom or never have the grace to return to it. (Challoner)
As for Hebrews 12:17, while Matthew Henry was a Protestant, his commentary on this verse was halfway decent :dts:
Matthew Henry’s Commentary
Falling away from Christ is the fruit of preferring the delights of the flesh, to the blessing of God, and the heavenly inheritance, as Esau did. But sinners will not always have such mean thoughts of the Divine blessing and inheritance as they now have. It agrees with the profane man’s disposition, to desire the blessing, yet to despise the means whereby the blessing is to be gained.
I’ll end with the words of Jesus Christ:
John 8: 11ff And Jesus said: Neither will I condemn thee. Go, and now sin no more.
Peace be with you
