I believe it will do nothing. Not because they wouldn’t want but because your government will be too busy trying not only to stay in power but to stay alive in the first place when people unite against totalitarian religious state.

And why would you want to punish abortionist at all? Your god didn’t have any problems whatsoever committing 1)genocide 2) mass murder of unborn and newly born babies.

Just open up the Bible. So, are we going to put your god or if the defendant doesnt show up in court, the ones who pretend to be his voice( the church) on trial for crimes against humanity?

I think you have good reasons in your first paragraph (not that I agree with them).

However, when speaking about the Christian God, it is impossible to attribute words like “genocide” and “murder” to Him, because Christians believe that God creates life, and it belongs to Him, and He can take it away whenever He wants.

Are you going to hold the Catholic Church on trial for the things God does? That would be difficult because it would: (1) bring an image of validation to the Catholic Church and the Protestants and Orthodox wouldn’t like that, and (2) it would be like trying to hold a baby accountable for her father’s actions, whatever they may be.

And that’s what is truly frightening. It is a puzzlement to think that some who are supposedly so “devoted” to the Church would create a society that would eat itself.
Eh? How in the world do you get the impression that “society would eat itself” if not for the Constitution? You get that the Constitution brought us to the present state or at least did nothing to stop us from getting here? You realize, too, that plenty of societies run on explicitly Catholic principles didn’t “eat themselves” at all?
For war crimes and crimes against humanity, yes. Before condemning practitioners of abortion, it would be necessary to legally identify abortion as a crime against humanity.
Yes, that’s logically kind of a prerequisite.

I don’t think you know what the word “totalitarian” means.

The legalized murder of 55000000 people is a crime against humanity, ipso facto.
I do not mythologize pre-1960s America. I have as much patriotism and good feelings towards my country as is psychologically and religiously healthy, but try to have no more. The idea of “America” has severe limitations and positively, logically-necessary evil conclusions. The difficulty is with trying to get people to connect the premise of America to the modern problems of America. Our social problems are not the result of totally random happenings. They are part of the design of our country to some degree.

I’m not saying Jefferson or [insert even earlier European thinker] sat around thinking, “Hmm, let’s make sure that 200 years from now the Supreme Court legalizes abortion!” Nor am I saying that the founders of this country, or their ideological forefathers, should have or even should have been able to predict the kinds of whacked-out things their ideas would directly cause when their arguments become over-extended and not properly balanced. I am kind of angry that they didn’t at least try to give it a better thought and build in more safeguards, however. On the other hand, they probably never even thought that these sorts of things could have ever happened; it was too absurd. “Of course they won’t do that,” Jefferson probably thought, “that is ridiculous!”
I agree. With the benefit of hindsight, America was doomed to fail from the beginning.

What are you babbling about? No totalitarian state has been devoutly religious.

God has a right to take life, “doctors” do not.
